What is an Appraisal?

An appraisal is an opinion of value of a home or lands current market value. A Certified Residential Appraiser completes this estimation, which is calculated by comparing the recent sales of homes in your market area. It includes features such as square footage, room count, condition, quality, and site size.

The appraisal process includes identifying the problem that needs solving in order to determine the scope of work, collecting data, analyzing data, applying the different approaches to valuation, and reconciling the final opinion of value. A Certified Residential Appraiser will come to your home and measure the property and take interior and exterior photos.
